 Turkey Will Create Added Value in Europe’s Recovery Process!

TÜRKONFED participated in the General Assembly meetings with the Executive Board of the European SME Association (SMEunited) representing 12 million companies and 55 million employees of which it is a member. TÜRKONFED President Orhan Turhan brought up Turkey’s added value in post pandemic recovery in Europe to the agenda. EU Commission Senior Vice President Valdis Dombroviks drew attention to the importance of the EU’s main trading partners including Turkey in the post-pandemic period.

June 8, 2020 / Istanbul - Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TÜRKONFED) attended the General Assembly meetings with the Executive Board of the European SME Association (SME United) representing 12 million companies and 55 million employees as a member. On Friday, 5 June 2020, at the general assembly meeting held with the participation of representatives from national, regional and sectoral SME federations of European countries, Orhan Turan, President of TÜRKONFED, and Arda Batu, Secretary General & Board Member, were also present.

Valdis Dombrovskis, Senior Vice President of the EU Commission, delivered the opening speech of the meeting, which was held on the agenda of European SMEs' priorities and strategies on overcoming the crisis. Dombrovskis, explaining the future rescue fund and the support planned to be provided to SMEs in the European recovery plan, exchanged ideas with European SMEs.

TURKONFED, drew attention to the importance of Turkey in the process of recovery.

TURKONFED President Orhan Turan who mentioned Turkey’s role in creating added value in Europe’s recovery, emphasized the development ofcooperation atmosphere. Dombrovskis, Senior Vice President of the EU also drew attention to the importance of the EU’s main trading partners in the post pandemic period including Turkey.
