The last of the Local Development Webinars, organized in cooperation with TÜRKONFED and CIPE to develop solutions and raise awareness within the scope of local development policies, was held with the theme of “Climate Crisis”. Having made a call for considering the climate crisis from different perspectives and stopping talking on what should be done and instead starting taking actions, the participants also talked about what needs to be done and priority roadmaps.
Call for Action against the Climate Crisis
The "Local Development Webinars" organized by the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TÜRKONFED) and the US-based Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) as part of the "Local Development Project for the Business World" ended with the event themed "Climate Crisis". The opening speeches of the event, moderated by journalist Ilgaz Gürsoy, were made by TÜRKONFED President Orhan Turan, TÜSİAD President Simone Kaslowski and UNDP Turkey Resident Representative Louisa Vinton. The panel organized within the scope of the webinar was attended by TEMA Foundation Chairperson Deniz Ataç, İTÜ Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Meteorology M. Sc. Engineer. Dr. Orhan Şen and Energy and Climate Specialist and İKLİMDER Chairperson Önder Algedik.
