TÜRKONFED and TÜSİAD, as a continuation of the mobilization efforts for the earthquake zone; visited the disaster area to meet with the public, political, local administration, NGOs and regional business representatives. Süleyman Sönmez, President of TÜRKONFED, Orhan Turan, President of TÜSİAD and Sezai Hazır, President of the Habitat Association, paid a visit to Adana, Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep, and Hatay within the scope of this visit and received information about the current situation. The delegation emphasized that they continue their support uninterruptedly to meet the needs of the region.
TÜRKONFED and TÜSİAD, Continuing Their Support For Mobilization After The Earthquake, Visited The Disaster Area
Immediately after the earthquake, TÜSİAD and TÜRKONFED, which started mobilization in the business world and established “support networks” to meet the needs of the disaster-affected region, visited the disaster area to meet with the representatives of the public and local administrations, business organizations and NGOs in the region. A series of meetings were held in Adana, Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep and Hatay during the visit attended

Visiting the Disaster Coordination Center in Kahramanmaraş, the delegation met with Süleyman Soylu, Interior Minister of Türkiye. Later, the delegation visited areas such as soup kitchens and storage areas established with the contributions of businesspeople and evaluated the needs on site with NGOs, aid organizations and volunteer teams working in these areas. During their visit to Hatay, the delegation met with Dr. Lütfü Savaş, Mayor of Hatay Metropolitan Municipality, and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the President of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) and met with NGOs under the umbrella of Disaster Platform.
The delegation, which also visited the organized industrial zones and small industrial sites in the cities affected by the earthquake, evaluated the assessments and demands of businesspeople. In this context, Hikmet Çinçin, President of Antakya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Levent Hakkı Yılmaz, President of İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gamze Aşnük, Vice President of Southern Anatolia Industry and Business Federation (GÜNSİFED) and member association presidents as well as Müfit Tennioğlu, Vice President of Eastern Mediterranean Industry and Business Federation (DASİFED), Mikail Utlu, President of Kahramanmaraş Industrialists' and Business People's Association (KASİAD), Mehmet Salih Çelik, Turkey Iraq Industrialists and Business People Association (TISİAD).
Visits to the disaster region were carried out with the coordination of its 5 regional business federations (ÇUKUROVASİFED, DASİFED, GÜNSİFED, DOGÜNSİFED, FIRATSİFED) and 44 local business associations operating in the provinces in the earthquake zone under the umbrella of TÜRKONFED.
Visits to Adıyaman, Malatya, and Diyarbakır will be carried out in the coming days.
