Hüseyin Ural AKÜZÜM

Hüseyin Ural Aküzüm, born in Kars, studied at Galatasaray High School, Montpellier University in France for Political Science, and Marmara University Faculty of Law. He completed his Ph.D. in Constitutional Law. He has been involved in various development and investment projects in Eastern Anatolia and the TRA2 region, and served as the founding president of the Serhat Federation of Industry and Business (SERHATSİFED), established by associations from Kars, Ardahan, Iğdır, and Ağrı provinces.

In his commercial life, Aküzüm has served as a partner and board member in family businesses, managed his own ventures, and held roles such as shareholder, board member, auditor, and inspector in various other companies. Following his tenure as the head of the Banking and Finance Department at Bilgi University's Vocational School of Higher Education, he continues to serve as an assistant professor at Bilgi, Gedik, and Yeditepe Universities. He is a founding partner of Kabine Law Office, focusing on arbitration practices, and has been working as a mediator attorney for approximately 20 years. He holds a mediator and reconciliator & notary certificate from the Ministry of Justice and is a registered trademark & patent attorney at TPE; he has served as the Deputy Chairman and Secretary-General of the Istanbul Bar Association Foreign Relations Center. He has published 4 books and numerous academic articles.

In the field of civil society, he continues his duties as a board member of the Bilgi University - Bilgi Education and Culture Foundation, the Bee Movement, the Galatasaray Solidarity Foundation, a supervisory board member of AmCham Turkey (Turkish American Business Association), a member of the DEİK Turkish-Azerbaijani Friendship Foundation, and a trustee of the Galatasaray Education Foundation.

Between 2011 and 2018, he served as a board member of the Galatasaray Sports Club and the publicly traded Galatasaray Sportif A.Ş. on Borsa Istanbul. He has held positions such as president of Taçspor, one of the country's oldest tennis clubs, and board member of Karsspor and Bodrumspor, the teams from his hometown. He has also served on various committees within the Turkish Tennis Federation (TFF) and the Turkish Sports for the Disabled Federation (TBESF).

Since its inception, he has been involved with TÜRKONFED and continues to serve as the vice president following his role as a board member. He is married with one child and is proficient in French, English, and Azerbaijani Turkish.
